A Fall Engagement Session at Discovery Park

Discovery Park Engagement Session by Anna Peters Photography | Seattle Wedding Photographer

Janae and Brady at Discovery Park, Seattle WA

Engagement photography is a chance to meet up with a photographer to capture images of you and your fiancé, before your wedding day. There are all sorts of ways you can use engagement session images: on your wedding website, on your save-the-dates, as part of a guest book, or just to share with family and friends.

However, from my perspective, the most compelling reason to include an engagement session is rooted in experience. On your wedding day, everything will be heightened – emotions, senses…. and nervousness. You may feel a little weirded out about having someone with a large camera in that intimate emotional space. Partnering with your wedding photographer for an engagement session is a really lovely way to help the whole thing feel more natural, effortless, authentic… less like a big production.

Spending time together helps me pick up on all the quiet, subtle aspects of your relationship that may otherwise go overlooked. Without fail: the better I get to know my clients, the more evocative and unique imagery I’m able to create at their wedding. Some photographers like to run the show. My style is gentler: present when it matters, unobtrusive when it matters most. This is why I enjoy working closely with you in the months preceding your wedding, and especially during your engagement session, tapping into your vibe. Every couple has one, and I promise: yours is totally different than anything I’ve seen before. By the time your wedding day arrives, I’ll be completely on your page, and you’ll be free to just relax into the feeling of it all. When the feeling is right, the photos that follow will knock your socks off.
