I’m Anna – Welcome!
My path to photography has been a little unconventional, but looking back it feels just right. I spent most of my life studying classical ballet, with a degree in Anthropology thrown into the mix, and both of those pursuits have deeply shaped how I see the world. In documenting a family in their home, wandering the streets of a new city, or capturing a heartfelt wedding, I witness glimpses of the way form and feeling come together to say something essential about the human experience. How we are wildly different, and also so much the same. I want to live, to breathe in, to dance in that in-between.
Seattle is my home base and I draw so much inspiration from landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. To me, they have an untamed, sacred kind of energy - even the quiet scenes hum with life. I love when the settings of my photographs feel like places you might pause to enjoy
When I'm not shooting or traveling, you can often find me (making a mess) in the kitchen preparing coconut milk, herbed bone broth, or some other project involving weird healthy food!
